A total of 1,386 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in the country, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed late Tuesday.
In a post on its Twitter handle, the centre said 476 of the cases were recorded in Lagos State, 163 in Rivers State, 116 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 114 in Kaduna State, 68 in Oyo State, 62 in Plateau State, 56 in Ogun State, 55 in Imo State, 51 in Edo State and 50 in Anambra State.
A total of 44 cases were recorded in Kwara State, 17 in Kano State, 14 in Ebonyi State, 10 each in Cross River and Delta states, eight in Jigawa State, six each in Bayelsa and Ekiti states, two each in Borno and Taraba states, and one in Zamfara State.
Fourteen new deaths were also announced, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country to 1,478.
These latest cases bring the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria to 114,691, with the virus spreading to all 36 states and the FCT.
