A total of 1,398 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in the country, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed late Wednesday.
In a post on its Twitter handle, the centre said 542 of the cases were recorded in Lagos State, 131 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 120 in Oyo State, 113 in Rivers State, 111 in Plateau State, 71 each in Kaduna and Kwara states, 34 in Akwa Ibom State, 31 in Sokoto State, 28 In Benue State, 27 in Ogun State and 26 in Kano State.
A total of 17 cases were recorded in Kebbi State, 12 in Osun State, 11 in Nasarawa State, 10 each in Delta and Gombe states, nine each in Bayelsa and Borno states, eight in Edo State, three in Ekiti and two each in Jigawa and Katsina states.
Nine new deaths were also announced, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country to 1,382.
These latest cases bring the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria to 103,999, with the virus spreading to all 36 states and the FCT.
