A total of 1,479 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in the country, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed late Thursday.
In a post on its Twitter handle, the centre said 697 of the cases were recorded in Lagos State, 201 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 80 in Nasarawa State, 74 in Plateau State, 72 in Rivers State, 46 in Edo State, 43 in Adamawa State, 39 in Osun State, 35 in Akwa Ibom State, 31 in Delta State, 27 in Anambra State, 24 in Oyo State and 21 in Kano State.
A total of 19 cases each were recorded in Abia and Enugu states, 18 in Ogun State, 12 in Sokoto State, seven each in Bauchi and Taraba states, four each in Ekiti, Gombe and Imo states, two each in Bayelsa and Jigawa states, and one in Zamfara State.
Twenty-three (23) new deaths were also announced, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country to 1,405.
These latest cases bring the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria to 105,478, with the virus spreading to all 36 states and the FCT.
