NCDC Confirms 184 New COVID-19 Cases As Nigeria’s Toll Rises To 4,971

A total of 184 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed late Wednesday.

In a post on its Twitter handle, the centre said 51 of the cases were recorded in Lagos State, 23 in Jigawa State, 16 each in Bauchi and Katsina states, 14 in Kano State, 10 each in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), nine in Kwara State and five each in Delta and Kaduna states.

Four cases were recorded in Sokoto and Oyo states each, three cases in Kebbi, Nasarawa and Osun states respectively, two in Ondo State and one in Ebonyi, Edo, Enugu, Anambra, Plateau and Niger states.

Six new deaths were also reported, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 164.

This latest figure brings the number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in Nigeria to 4,971, with the virus spreading to 34 states and the FCT.
