The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) had denied poisoning the late singer, Mohbad.
A video pointing fingers at the NDLEA in the travails of the late singer, Mohbad, surfaced online.
In the video sighted by Newsbreak Nigeria, Mohbad alleged that he was arrested by the agency on the orders of his former record label boss, Naira Marley.
The deceased, who was lying on a hospital bed, stated that while he was not the only one arrested by the NDLEA officials, he was allegedly given a clear substance to drink over a claim that he was on hard drugs.
However, reacting, Femi Babafemi, spokesperson of the agency denied such.
In a tweet on his X handle, he wrote, “This is authentic account of the arrest and detention of some Malian artistes in Feb 2022, an incident that has now been twisted by purveyors of fake news to say Mohbad was poisoned in @ndlea_nigeria custody even when he was never arrested or detained by the agency. I hope they’ll be bold enough to defend their claims when the hand of the law catches them.”
Mohbad died in a controversial manner on Tuesday and was buried on Wednesday.
