Senator Ibrahim Danbaba, the lawmaker representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, has been appointed as the new Deputy Minority Whip of the Senate.
Dambaba was named as the deputy minority whip of the Senate on Thursday following the defection of Senator Sahabi Yau (Zamfara North) to the All Progressives Congress recently.
Senator Ahmed Lawan, the Senate President, read a letter from the caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announcing Dambaba as the new deputy minority whip of the Senate during plenary on Thursday.
The letter was signed by the PDP National Secretary, Ibrahim Tsuari.
