The Kaduna state government has appointed Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamali as the new Emir of Zazzau.
He is from the Mallawa ruling house and he is the first emir to emerge in 100 years from the ruling family.
The new emir succeeds Shehu Idris who passed on Sunday, September 20, 2020.
The 54-year-old new emir studied law at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University and also earned a Master’s degree in International Relations and diplomacy.
In a statement released by the Kaduna State Commissioner of Local Government Affairs, Ja’afaru Ibrahim Sani, the new emir was at a time an Executive Director at the Nigerian Security Printing & Minting Corporation where he eventually rose to the position of Managing Director.
The 19th Emir of Zazzau also served as Nigeria’s ambassador to Thailand and as a permanent commissioner in the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission in 2015.
