The maiden edition of the Next Rated reality television show is expected to hit the airwaves soon.
Currently calling for entries, the show will showcase and produce Nigeria’s next stars in music, comedy, acting and spoken words.
Emmanuel Enero, project coordinator of the TV show, in a statement said the aim of the show is to create opportunities for emerging young talents in the Nigerian entertainment industry, nurture the participants to the highest level of their entertainment career.
Expectedly, 24 contestants will be selected from four different regions that includes Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Owerri and other African countries through an audition that will take place for one month.
A star prize of $5,000 and a car alongside endorsement deals are expected for grabs.
According to Enero, “only one winner will emerge, and this winner must have basic talent in all the categories mentioned. The 24 contestants will be camped in a house for a period of 6 weeks, they will undergo series of tasks in the various entertainment categories, their intellectual and physical strength will be checked, behavioral attitudes will also be checked through their relationship with other housemates, and their tolerance for each other. We expect the atmosphere to be a bit tensed especially in the group tasks,” he said.
The show, which has Silverbird Television, AIT and NTA 2 Channel 5 and other media platforms in Africa, will be livestreamed for 24 hours.
