Abubakar Sani Bello, Governor of Niger State, has received the 53 passengers recently released following their abduction while on the Niger State Transit Authority (NSTA) bus.

Governor Bello met with the released passengers at Government House, Minna, the state capital, on Sunday, according to a post on his official Twitter handle.

Governor Bello had earlier on Sunday announced that all the passengers abducted on the bus had been released.

According to him, the state government secured the release of the abducted passengers.

Mary Noel-Berje, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said the abductees were rescued around Zamfara State.

No government official, however, provided details on how the state government secured their release.
