A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Gabriel Omisore has said that it is not the time for euphemism but a time, to tell the truth.

In his message in commemoration of Nigeria’s 62th independent day, he said, “Fellow Nigerians, this is not the time for euphemism. When siblings enter the room for a meeting and come out smiling, they fail in their duty of speaking the truth to one another. Nigeria is at a crossroads and to salvage the already bad situation; it is time to tell one another the truth. 2023 is not the year of the rookie.

“Succumbing to emotions and blackmail will not win elections.

“For long, we have been shortchanged by the powers that be. Our dreams have stagnated, like a puddle of water, choked on all sides by barriers. We have been pushed aside long enough, and 2023 is our time to make a stand. However, we need to stand on the right side of history.

“Some roles allow room for rookies, thereby giving them the luxury of learning on the job but not with the presidency. Too much is at stake at this critical time in our nation’s history to roll the dice and hope it will be all six. We are too far gone as a nation to take that gamble.

“While naysayers might be quick to point fingers at the APC-led federal government for our current challenges in one or two areas, no one can fault President Muhammmadu Buhari for also scoring high in areas of infrastructure development, among others. He has run his and when it is time to exchange baton of leadership, the right man to reposition the country remains a man of vast experience, a nationalist and man of vision – Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The national leader of the APC and its presidential candidate is an astute politician who understands what it entails to manage a country as complex as Nigeria. Divided along ethnic and religious lines, Nigeria is on the precipice and Tinubu remains the only man among the lot with the magic wand and APC remains the party to beat.

“The energy of the youths regarding 2023 is a commendable one but it has to be channelled rightly to achieve the overall goal. As we clock 62 years today, Nigeria cannot afford to miss it in 2023.

“Happy Independence Day!”.
