The student, whose name was not mentioned, was said to have completed her Masters degree at the university in 2016. She had requested for her statement of result in 2018 and certificate in 2019 without encountering any problem.
However, trouble started after she requested for her transcript, with which she was going to process her admission into a foreign university for further education. Her school here in Nigeria then insisted she had failed some courses and must return to retake them.

“Nigerian Universities are at it again. Just spoke to someone who finished her MSc in 2016, collected Statement of Result in 2018 and Certificate in 2019. Now she’s applying for transcript to study abroad but has been told she failed some courses and need to come retake them,” Dipo Awojide, a personal development coach, said on Twitter.
His tweet also sparked some response from social media with many sharing similar experiences.
“That’s nt a new thing at all in Nija [sic]. “This would have been funny if not sad. How do you issue a certificate to a student and then turnaround to say they have outstanding courses to pass,” a user, @olufemioye said.
