A total of 239 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed late Saturday.

In a post on its Twitter handle, the centre said 97 of the cases were recorded in Lagos State, 44 in Bauchi State, 29 in Kano State, 19 in Katsina State, 17 in Borno State, seven in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and six in Kwara State.
Five cases each were recorded in Oyo State, three each in Kaduna and Sokoto states, two in Adamawa, Kebbi, Plateau and Ogun states respectively and one in Ekiti State.

Eleven new deaths were also reported, an increase of one from the previous day.

This latest figure brings the number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in Nigeria to 4,151, with the virus spreading to 34 states and the FCT.
Out of the 3,912 cases, Lagos State has recorded the highest number with 1,784, followed by Kano State with 576, FCT with 343, Bauchi State with 161, Borno State has 159, Katsina State has 156, Ogun State with 115, Gombe State has 110, Kaduna State with 98, Sokoto State with 96, Jigawa State with 83, Edo State has 67, Zamfara State with 65, Oyo State has 64, Osun State has 38, Kwara State has 30, Nasarawa State has 25 and Rivers State has 21.

Kebbi State has 20 cases, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Plateau and Adamawa states have 17 each, Taraba and Ondo states have 15 each, Yobe and Ekiti states have 13 respectively, Enugu State has 10, Ebonyi State with seven, Niger State with six, Bayelsa State with five, Imo State has three, Benue and Abia states have two each, and Anambra has one case.
A total of 128 deaths have been recorded, while 745 patients have been discharged.
