Nigeria’s total amount of electricity generated from the national grid since the start of the year 2020 increased to 4,898.2 megawatts on Wednesday.
According to industry data gotten on Thursday from the Ministry of Power, the year 2020 began with power generation of 4,678.8 MW, while the lowest quantum of energy generated on the same day was put at 3,399.3 MW.
It, however, increased to 4,898.2 MW, the highest so far this year.
According to the eight-day power generation report, the lowest amount of electricity generated since the beginning of the year was 2,461.1MW on January 3, while the peak power generation before Wednesday’s data was recorded 4,406.8MW- recorded on the same day.
However, while the grid recorded the highest peak of 4,898.2MW, it also witnessed a reduction to 3,345.8MW.
This increase comes just as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) energised a new 100MVA 132/33kV power transformer installed in Ogba Transmission Substation in Lagos.
