Nine students of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, kidnapped along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway last Sunday, have regained their freedom.
Auwal Umar, ABU Director of Public Affairs, confirmed the release on Sunday. He said the students were released on Saturday night.
The Punch reports that Umar could not confirm if they a ransom was paid for their release.
The students of the Department of French were travelling to Lagos for a programme at the Nigerian French Language Village in Badagry before they were kidnapped.
