Joe Igbokwe, Special Adviser on Drainage and Water Resources to Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, says the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has warned him not to come to the South-east.
He said IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who was recently extradited back to Nigeria to continue his trial on treasonable charges, has instructed members of the proscribed group to behead him if sighted in the region.
Igbokwe hails from Nnewi in Anambra State.
He had said the federal government has sufficient evidence to jail the secessionist leader, over the activities of IPOB and Eastern Security Network (ESN).
He was also seen in a viral video thanking God when the federal government broke the news of Kanu’s arrest and extradition.
But in an interview with BBC Pidgin, the former spokesperson of the Lagos State branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that Kanu has instructed members of the group to kill all his children and destroy his properties.
“He (Kanu) on Radio Biafra said if his boys see me, they should behead me, kill all my children, destroy my home,” he said.
Kanu, who was briefly arraigned before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja, two days after he was brought back to Nigeria on June 27, will again appear in court on July 26.
