Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, has said Igbos are tired of being third class citizens in their own country.
Edochie, in a post shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, urged the federal government to allow for the creation of the Republic of Biafra.
The actress, who has never hid her support for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), also called on the federal government to release the group’s leader, Nmandi Kanu, before it is too late.
Kanu was arrested in Kenya and extradited back to Nigeria on June 27.
The IPOB leader is currently standing trial on treasonable charges.
Kanu was scheduled to appear for the continuation of his trial at the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday, but the Department of State Services (DSS), the agency in whose custody he is being kept, failed to bring him to court.
The presiding judge, Justice Binta Nyako, adjourned the case till October 21, 2021.
“Free mazi nnamdi kanu now yo (sic) avoid had i know,” Edochie wrote.
Allow us to go.
“We need biafra
“We can’t keep being third class citizens in our own land.”
