Nnamdi Kanu, detained leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has reiterated his confidence on the ability of those who are steering the IPOB ship on his behalf.
Newsbreak reports that the IPOB Directorate of State (DOS) has been acting in Kanu’s stead since the Nigerian-British political activist was rearrested in Kenya in June 2021, and transferred to Nigeria.
Although, factions of IPOB have emerged, Kanu has always said from detention that the IPOB DOS and his family speaks for him. He uses those channels and his lawyers to show his opposition to the latest horror experienced in the southeast region.
Providing an update on Kanu’s legal team’s routine visit to the IPOB leader at the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, IPOB’s Lead Counsel said Kanu is pleased with his representatives so far.
“Onyendu (Kanu) reiterated his confidence on the ability of those who are steering this ship on his behalf, particularly in restoring total calm and sanity on our land, which is in line with the ideology of his peaceful Movement. He remains profoundly grateful,” Ejiofor’s statement reads in part.
