Secessionist movement, Biafra Nations League (BnL) on Monday declared a ‘ghost sea’ in the Bakassi Peninsula and all waterways near the area in solidarity with the court trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB).
National Leader of BnL, Princewill Richards said in a statement sent to Newsbreak that its men will enforce the ghost sea from 6am to 4pm, warning that “the Nigerian government is biting more than they can chew”.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that there is an increase of travellers today (Monday), as Cameroonians and other foreign businessmen and women were boarding available boats to Cameroon this evening.
Several oil workers reportedly struggled to board their boats to Ndian and Douala.
BnL has been a threat to oil firms in the region following incessant attacks by militants loyal to it.
