Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has said that the Imo State government is “doomed”.
Ejiofor was reacting to Sunday’s killing of seven youths in Oru East Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo State by Ebubeagu security operative.
They were said to have been killed while returning from a traditional wedding in Awomama, Oru East LGA.
Ejiofor asked for an immediate probe into the alleged murder – although he puts the number of the youths killed at 14.
“This barbaric act is totally condemnable, unacceptable and an unforgivable crime against humanity! How did we get here??? How can a state hack up her young ones in these most gruesome manner?” the lawyer said.
“What is the difference between these monstrous Ebubeagu militia and those they were purportedly set up to eradicate? The difference is that the killer Ebubeagu militia has the backing, the license and authority of the State Government to kill without being called to question.
“Enough should be enough!
“Every well-meaning individual must rise up and condemn this atrocious act, and further seek justice by calling the Imo State Government to question. The perpetrators of this heinous crime must be brought to book!”
