Captain of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, Asisat Oshoala, has hailed her partner, Engineer Noah Dallaji, as a pillar of sports in the country.
The 26-year-old striker, who is the founder of the Asisat Oshoala Foundation, partnered with Noah Dallaji, the founder of the African Children Talent Discovery Foundation, to give hope to the next generation.
The Asisat Oshoala Foundation is set out to give hope to the African girl-child through education and sports, while the ACTDF, is set out to discover talents from young Africans and help nurture them to become the next stars.
Dallaji has proven over the years to have the interest of young people at heart, and he has a program tagged ‘Engr. Noah Dallaji Legacy Project,’ which covers football, music, entertainment and the arts, and now, with his partnership with Asisat Oshoala Foundation, he is exploring girls’ football and para-soccer.
The 45-year-old philanthropist said the programme was in furtherance of ACTDF’s vision and mission to discover and develop Nigerian talents to solve some of the challenges of insecurity, social ills and consequently the development of the country.
In June, Dallaji organised a seven-day talent hunt in Bauchi State to discover young talented footballers who will be given financial support to flourish in their careers.
Despite the insecurities in the country, Engineer Dallaji used the event to show the positive side of the country, while also bringing in former Super Eagles players like JayJay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo Daniel Amokachi and others from African countries like El-Hadji Diouf to mentor these young talents.
Since both foundations have a common goal of helping the less privileged and the African children through education and sports, they decided to partner with each other.
The partnership will see both bodies collaborate on how hope will be given to a girl child and the less privileged in Africa.
Their first event together will be the Noah Dallaji Para-Soccer Championship, which is ongoing at the National Stadium, Lagos. The event is tagged Noah Dallaji/Asisat Oshoala Para-Soccer Championship and Girls’ Football Tourney. It is being held from 16-19 July, 2021.
Speaking on the partnership, Oshoala said: “it is good when two visionaries come together to achieve a common goal.
The four-time African women’s player of the year continued: “My foundation is set out to help the girl- child, and our daddy [Noah Dallaji] made me understand that help is for all, that’s why we decided to extend a helping hand to the para-athletes, and we hope to do more.”
She added: “He has shown with his philanthropical works, presence at different events, even though he’s busy, that he is a pillar of sports in Nigeria, and he is ready to do more. ”
This particular event aims to support the para-athlete and also donate wheelchairs for them.
