The spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has called on the United Kingdom (UK) and the rest of the international community to match words with action in their commitment to credible elections in Nigeria in 2023.
Newsbreak.ng reports that a resurgence of arson targeted at public institutions, especially those critical to the successful conduct of the 2023 general elections, has raised fears of a volatile electioneering season as Nigeria begins its countdown to the polls.
Lamenting the spate of violence ahead of the 2023 general elections, Baba-Ahmed called for adequate security measures to enable eligible Nigerians in various communities participate in the electioneering process.
The NEF official was speaking recently at the Northern Peace Conference on the 2023 general elections in Abuja.
