The Nigeria Premier League commissioner, Tanko Nuru, has been reported dead, on Monday in his hotel room in Kano. The commissioner died after supervising a match on Sunday.
Kano Pillars Media Officer, Idris Malikawa, confirmed the incident and said Tanko was taken to the hospital for autopsy, where he was confirmed to have died from hypertension.
“He was found dead in his hotel room and it was the hotel staff who found him. We took him to the hospital this morning and he was confirmed dead by the medical doctor-in-charge, who said he died of natural causes due to high blood pressure,” Malikwa said.
