A 48-year-old nurse, Oduwole Taiwo, has been remanded in Kirikiri Prisons for allegedly failing to pay a commercial bus owned by the Lagos State Government. It was reported that Taiwo, boarded a bus from Ikorodu to Ojota, a journey which costs N100 instead of the N50 she offered to pay.
The prosecutor, Ihiehie Lucky, told the court that Taiwo refused to pay N100 transport fare, which resulted in an argument between the LAGBUS ticketer and the accused. He said, the driver tried to settle the matter and to his surprise she left the ticketer and descend on the driver thereby causing him to lose control and in the process, the bus hit a BRT bus.
The presiding Magistrate, O. Sule-Amzat, admitted the accused on the bail of N20, 000 with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned till September 20.
