The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), is set to reopen orientation camps across the country, and has listed guidelines to be followed, due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.

According to a circular dated June 23,2020, signed on behalf of the NYSC Director- General, by Y.S Ehoda-Adi, the guidelines have been reviewed by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The guidelines include; decontamination of orientation camps, rearrangement of bed spaces to allow for the two-meter spacing to accommodate the coronavirus safety protocol, temperature testing at every point of entry to the camps for corps members, and reduction in the number of corps members participating during each orientation exercise.

The circular also stipulated training of key camp officials by officials of the NCDC on infection prevention and control.
It also said e-learning must be adopted for some lectures in camps, and social distancing protocol must be strictly adhered to in all camp activities.

It also said hand washing stands and hand sanitizers must be available at various points in camps.
