Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has disclosed the plan of his government to build an airport in Edo North Senatorial District of the state.
The Governor told a meeting of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members across wards and local government areas in the district that there is a need for an airport to be built in order to open up the senatorial district to more commercial activities and the state as a whole.
“I am in talks with investors, development partners and other stakeholders on the construction of an airport in Edo North Senatorial District, to open up the area and rev up economic activities in the state.
“My administration has been working on improving the transportation network in Edo State; we have done some studies and found out that an airport in Edo North is feasible,” the governor said.
A chieftain of the party and former deputy governor of the state, Chief Mike Oghiadomhe, commended Obaseki’s developmental strides. He pledged the loyalty and support of party faithful from Edo North Senatorial District to Obaseki’s administration.
