Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has thanked a supporter who climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to hoist the Labour Party’s flag in support of his 2023 presidential bid.
In a tweet on Thursday, Peter Obi expressed gratitude to his supporters in Nigeria and the diaspora, saying he was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from his supporters ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Recognizing the hiker who had to climb Africa’s tallest mountain to install the party’s flag, Obi promised to restore the country to its former position as the continent’s pride.
“I am always overwhelmed by the show of love and support from the OBIdients in Nigeria and Diaspora. Your many acts of sacrifices reassure me of your patriotism and flaming desire to take back your country for good,” he wrote.
“Thank you @OGersh for taking our OBIdient message to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. It must have been a tough journey going up there for a noble sacrifice. I assure you and every Nigerian that under my watch, Nigeria will regain its position as the pride of Africa,” he added.
