Reno Omokri an ex-aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan has alleged that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi filled the most sensitive positions in Labour Party with his kinsmen from Anambra state.
Making this accusation in response to the dismissal of Doyin Okupe, the director general of Obi’s campaign in Ogun State, Omokri claimed that the Labour Party’s publicity secretary’s admission that there is substantial corruption within the party is not unexpected because nepotism-filled parties are prone to corruption.
“The publicity secretary of the Labour Party says there is serious corruption within the party. Why should Nigeria be surprised? When Obi has filled the most sensitive positions within the party hierarchy with people from his Anambra state. Nepotism leads to corruption!” Omokri wrote.
Recall that Okupe, a key supporter of Peter Obi’s election bid, was dismissed by the Ogun State Labour Party allegedly due to financial malfeasance.
