A 62-year-old supporter of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has explained why he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa to raise the party’s flag at the mountain’s summit
In a tweet, the sexagenarian, who clarified that he was not a robot, explained that he decided to climb the mountain because he felt the pain of Nigerian youth.
He detailed that he commenced the mountain climb on the 15th of October returning to Nigeria on Wednesday October 25, 2022.
“I am making this additional post to clarify the ffg: 1. I am not a robot. 2. I am not young but I feel the pain of the youth, so i did this. 4. I live in Nigeria, travelled to Tanzania on 11th, started climbing on 15th submitted on 20/10/22. 5. I returned to Nigeria 6 hrs ago,” he wrote.
Recall that the sexagenarian had drawn public attention after he installed the Labour Party flag at the top of Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa.
His action is to clearly state his support for Peter Obi’s presidential bid, which has gained traction among Nigerians.
