Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has thanked his supporters for the nationwide rally held in support of his presidential ambition on Saturday.
Commending citizens for the successful rallies held across different parts of the country, Obi, in a tweet, said that the actions of his supporters will go down in history as the day Nigerians spoke with one voice.
“Dear OBIdients, today will go down in history as a day Nigerians spoke with one united voice; the message is clear and simple – A NEW NIGERIA IS POSSIBLE! From Lagos, Bauchi, Benin City, Warri, Osogbo, Kaduna, Uyo, Aba, London, New York and many more, OBIdients made a bold statement with generally very peaceful rallies. The very young, and old men and women in their millions marched in solidarity and in support of our collective vision of a New Nigeria. I salute Nigerian Youths. I thank you all most sincerely,” Peter Obi wrote.
“for your passion, resolve and resiliency. You have shown the world that Nigeria is ready for change, and that the majority are ready to lead the way. Thank you all for the sacrifices. Our labours shall never be in vain and there is no stopping us now,” he added.
According to prior media reports, Peter Obi’s supporters flocked to rallies in states across the country to promote his presidential campaign.
In the run-up to the 2023 presidential election, Nigerians who seem weary of the status quo have continued to drum up support for Peter Obi.
The Saturday rallies disprove the opposition’s constant allegations that Peter Obi’s supporters are confined to social media.
