Mopelola Aigbogun, a resident pastor of the Grace Outreach Global Church in Akure, the Ondo State capital, has said the offering paid by church members is not to be spent by the pastor alone but by the members as well.
Aigbogun, also the founder of Hands of Grace, a nonprofit organisation said this at an event where palliatives were given to members of the church recently, Church Times reports.
“Religious worship centres should also cater for the physical welfare of the people apart from their spiritual lives. The way we can give back to them is to give what they have given for the common good,” she said.
Segun Aigbogun, the Senior Pastor of the church, said the church has a responsibility to its members pointing out that it exists for the people.
“We were able to reach members through our data base and through the leaders of the groups in the church. That is why we are able to observe social distancing. There is no crowd around where the distribution is being done,” he said
Some members of the church who spoke at the event testified of how the church has been responding to needs around even when there was no crisis stating that the Church has demonstrated the love of Christ over the years.
