The Nigeria Police, Thursday, announced the appointment of Emmanuel Ojukwu as the new Force spokesman. Mr. Ojukwu replaced Frank Mba, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, who now takes charge as an Area Commander, Area J, in the Lagos State Command. Mba served as Police Public Relations Officer from February 2012 to August 2014.

In a statement he issued in Abuja, Force Deputy Public Relations Officer,  Abayomi Shogunle, conveyed the news to journalists. Ojukwu’s appointment by Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Suleiman Abba, would see him return to the office he had vacated in 2010 during the tenure of IGP Ogbonna Onovo.

Until his new assignment, Ojukwu was the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigations Department at Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja.  Ojukwu holds a B.Sc degree in Psychology (First Class Hons) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; M.Sc Psychology, University of Lagos. He is a member of the  Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Chairman Association of Nigerian Authors, Abuja, President of the University of Nigeria Alumni Association, Abuja.
