Nigerian singers, Stanley Omah Didia, aka Omah Lay; Temilade Openyi aka Tems; as well as Muyiwa Awoniyi, who were arrested in Uganda have arrived in Nigeria.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NICDOM), announced this in a post on Twitter on Thursday.
According to Dabiri-Erewa, the trio returned to the country via an Ethiopian Airline flight, which landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Thursday afternoon.
Both Omah Lay and Tems were arrested alongside Awomiyi by the Uganda Police Force for flouting COVID-19 guidelines.
They were arrested after their performances at The Big Brunch, which held at Speke Resort, Wavamunno Road, Kampala, the country’s capital.
The trio had been charged with an act of likely spreading an infectious disease, but had the charges dropped against them on Tuesday.
Okumu Jude Muwone, Magistrate Grade One of the Chief Magistrates Court, Makindye, ordered the singers’ release in an order dated 15 December.
