The African Action Congress’ presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has criticized the Nigerian police, claiming that the security forces did not learn from the 2020 #EndSARS uprising.
In response to the news of the murder of Omobolanle Raheem by members of the Nigerian police force, Sowore condemned the development, saying that a system of impunity used to suffocate Nigerians’ lives must be ended.
“A trigger happy @policeng officer has taken the life of this innocent lawyer, Omobolanle Raheem, sad that Nigeria police hasn’t learnt any lessons from the #EndSARS uprising. A system of impunity that is used to snuffing life out Nigerians must be stopped! #WeCantContinueLikeThis,” Sowore wrote.
Sowore joins a slew of other Nigerians in condemning the Nigerian police force for the killing of the Nigerian lawyer. However, the police have promised that justice will be served.
