Agboola Ajayi, Ondo State deputy governor, has resigned his membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ajayi resigned from the APC on Sunday at his village in Kiribo, Ward 2, Apoi, in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of the state.
Consequently, he picked the membership card of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at his ward, Channels Television reports.

This is coming hours after Ajayi was prevented from leaving the Government House in Akure, the state capital, by the commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami, on Saturday night.
He was said to have planned defecting from the APC, due to the worsening relationship with governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

He expressed joy at his return to the PDP.
