Ondo lawmakers at the state House of Assembly were sent running in different directions after a snake invaded the complex on Thursday.
TheCable reports that proceedings were ongoing before the reptile crept in causing panic and forcing them to scamper for safety.
One of the workers at the assembly complex blamed the situation on the poor state of the facility.
“The snake fell from the chamber’s roof when sitting was to commence and this made all the lawmakers to run for their lives,” he said.
“Unfortunately for us, the snake escaped. If you see how some of the lawmakers were shaking as if they wanted to die. The last time something was done to this complex was during government of Segun Agagu.
“As I am talking to you, some of the lawmakers don’t have personal offices.”
Bamidele Oloyelogun, the speaker, has declared indefinite recess, saying the security of the legislators could not be guaranteed.
