The trio of Rotimi Akeredolu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Eyitayo Jegede, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); and Agboola Ajayi, candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), have won their polling units in the Ondo State governorship election.
The three politicians were the major candidates out of the 17 that contested the election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) across the 18 local government areas of the state on Saturday.
Akeredolu, who is the incumbent state governor, voted at Unit 6 Ward 5, Isokun, in Ijebu Owo area of the state.
He polled 413 votes to defeat Jegede, who garnered 12 votes; and Ajayi, who scored zero.
At Igbogin/Isikan Ward 2, unit 9 in Akure South, Jegede polled 220 votes to win his polling unit.
Akeredolu was second with 60 votes, while Ajayi recorded seven votes.
Ajayi coasted home to victory at his voting centre, Apoi Ward II, Unit 004, Idumado Quarters, Kiribo, with a wide margin of 395 votes.
Akeredolu scored 13 votes, while Jegede secured five votes.
