The University of Port Harcourt has said only one of the three persons murdered by suspected cultists and buried in Eteo forest in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State is a student of the institution.
William Wodi, the institution’s spokesman, said only one of them, identified as Joy Adoki, a female, is their student. He said the others, Nelson Nwafor and Fortune Obemba, both males, are not students of the university.
He said Adoki is a student of the Management Science Faculty and resides off-campus at Alakahia. He added that she was supposed to be with her parents after the school closed in March.
The State Police Command had exhumed the decomposing bodies of Nelson Nwafor ‘m’, Fortune Obemba ‘m’, and Joy Adoki ‘f’, identifying them as undergraduates of UNIPORT, who were abducted on 7/4/2020 at Choba.
“In the course of Investigation, one of the kidnappers was arrested on 30/4/2020, and on interrogation, made useful confessions that led to the arrest of two others. One of the suspects by name Friday Akpan, ‘m’, took the operatives to a forest at Eteo in Eleme LGA, where the bodies of the victims were recovered.
