The embattled former senate president, Ike Ekweremadu will remain in custody till October 31 following his ongoing organ harvesting trial in the United Kingdom.
Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice are facing charges bordering on conspiracy to arrange/facilitate the travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting.
Recall that Ekweremadu and Beatrice were arrested on Thursday, June 23 and remanded in a prison in the UK over allegations of plotting to harvest the organ of one Ukpo Nwamini David (21), for their ailing daughter Sonia Ekweremadu.
However, the court granted Beatrice bail on an undisclosed fairly stringent condition but denied bail to Senator Ike Ekweremadu.
On Thursday, the Central Criminal Court in the UK adjourned the trial till October 31.
