AC Milan’s defender and former Chelsea star, Fikayo Tomori, has disclosed that Serie A winner and Napoli prolific striker, Victor Osimhen, is so annoying to play against.
He described Osimhen as “very dynamic”, adding that for a defender, he’s very annoying to play against, according to Times UK.
Reflecting on the match with Napoli, Tomori said, “We managed to keep Osimhen quiet, then last minute he scored which was a blow. He’s very dynamic, and for a defender, he’s very annoying to play against.
“He just doesn’t stop running. Every time I received the ball, he’s coming to press. If I pass it back to the goalkeeper [the brilliant Mike Maignan], and he gives it back to me, Osimhen is on me again. He comes to press me, I pass it on and he gives me a little nudge. The ball’s in the air, he’s elbowing you. He’s so good in the air, if you let him get a jump on you, you know he’s likely to win it. The ball’s with their centre back, and suddenly he’s running in behind. He’s the kind of striker you don’t want to play against as he never gives you a minute’s rest. He keeps going and going. He’s a top, top striker.”
Napoli won their first Italian Serie A title in 33 years, clinching the Scudetto on Thursday with a 1-1 draw at Udinese.
Victor Osimhen scored his 22nd Serie A goal of the season to clinch the title for Napoli.
