Head of Politics and Governance of the Redeemed Christian Church (RCCG), Pastor Timothy Olaniyan, on Monday, said he spoke for himself, when he said at the weekend that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, remained the only child of God and a pastor that could change the narrative of governance in Nigeria.

Newsbreak reports that the pastor had in a statement endorsed Osinbajo’s ambition. Osinbajo is a member of the RCCG.

The statement which made the rounds irked many people, especially Nigeria’s online community.

A youth Pastor with RCCG, Oche Otorkpa, reacted, calling on the church to sack Pastor Olaniyan over the Osinbajo comment.

Criticising the ‘one-sided partisan stance’ by Pastor Olaniyan, the youth pastor, alongside others, called for his sack.

Now, according to the preacher, he didn’t speak for the church. He made this clarification at an event organised by New Era Nigeria.
