The three-man investigative panel, led by Ag. President Yemi Osinbajo, has allegedly recommended indefinite suspension of Ayo Oke and David Babachir Lawal, director-general of National Intelligence Agency, NIA, and Secretary to Government of Federation, SGF respectively.
The panel, which also has Abubakar Malami and Babagana Munguno, Attorney General, and National Security Adviser respectively, was set up to investigate the two officials.
According to The Sun, part of the panel’s recommendations were already being implemented. The newspaper, which quoted a government source, also said the details of the report would soon be made public.
Moreover, the alleged official added that Osinbajo submitted the report to President Muhammadu Buhari before the latter’s medical travel to London .
The panel carried out an investigation into the N13bn found in an unoccupied flat, but later claimed by Oke to belong to the NIA. In Lawal’s case, he was probed for alleged corrupt enrichment via award of contract for cutting grass at Internally Displaced PersonWhile Oke was probed over the discovery of N13bn found in an unoccupied flat, Lawal was quizzed for alleged corrupt enrichment at Internally Displaced Persons, IDP, camps.
