Senator Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Saturday’s Osun State governorship election has cast his vote.
Senator Adeleke, currently represents Osun West senatorial district, arrived at the polling centre very early, was accredited and voted at about 8.08am at Abogunde Ward 5, Unit 9 in Ede, the Punch reports.
Speaking to reporters after casting his vote, Adeleke said he is qualified to contest the election and expressed confidence that he would win if the entire process was conducted in a free, fair and credible manner.
The PDP candidate also debunked all the allegations levelled against him in recent days, saying that they were designed by “afraid” opponents to prevent him from contesting the election.
He said, “I am very optimistic, that I am going to win this election. All the allegations levelled against me are false. They tried to make sure that I did not contest this election. I am qualified, I have all it takes.
“They are all afraid of me because they all know that if I contest in this election and if it is a free and fair election, I am going to win.
“By the special grace of God, that is what is going to happen. I am going to win.”
