Chris Oyakhilome, Founder of Believers Love World, also known as Christ Embassy, has urged Africans to reject being tagged black.
In a telecast to his members, monitored by PMNews, the preacher said black is the absence of colour, lack of direction and absence of light.
He urged his followers to desist from supporting the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.
“Maybe I should tell you something, those of you that say black lives matter, I feel sorry for you! Do you really believe you have a black life? Do you want me to read to you the meaning of black?
“Who called you black? Shouldn’t you have rejected that from the beginning? A contradiction, a bundle of contradiction. You refused negro and nigga… But that’s what black is. You took the English version.
“Negro means black. Do you know what black means… Have you ever seen black? Black means the absence of colour, absence of good, absence of light and absence of direction,” he was quoted to have said.
It is not the first time Oyakhilome has made controversial statements. Last Wednesday, he was quoted to have said pastors yet to reopen their churches after the COVID-19 lockdown was lifted are unbelievers.
“If you refuse to open church for fear of being infected, you were never a believer.
“This is a great concern because there were churches that were thought to be churches until recently. We find a lot of ministers who were thought to be advocates of the gospel advocating for shutting down the churches.
“It is pressure like this that reveals what is a church and what is not. Do they really believe in God, the same God of the patriarchs in the Bible?
“I have laid hands on some of the most infectious people on earth and had no fear of being infected. The Word of God guarantees life in Christ,” he said.
