Several Nigerians have lambasted David Ibiyeomie, General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, for criticising Ifedayo Olarinde, an on-air personality popularly known as Daddy Freeze, over his comments on David Oyedepo, the presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, aka (Winners’ Chapel).
The Port-Harcourt based cleric also said he cursed the day Daddy Freeze was born.
Ibiyeomie’s comments have elicited a throng of backlash from Nigerians, who expressed their disappointment over the cleric mocking a fellow individual on the pulpit.
Leading the pack of commentators is Sunday Adelaja, founder and Senior Pastor of The Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations Church in Kyiv, capital of Ukraine.
According to Adelaja, the actions of Ibiyeomie and Oyedepo has shown that there is no Christianity and no proper Christian leaders in Nigeria.
“Nigerian Church, Behold Your Leaders!!! When we say there is no Christianity in Nigeria some wail. “Woe, to the land when your king is a child”, these are the type of leaders bringing curses and calamity to our nation. ‘Jesus wept…’ DSA,” Adelaja wrote on Facebook.
He later added another comment on the same platform.
Nigerians also took to Twitter to hit out at Ibiyeomie over his criticism of Daddy Freeze.
Omoyele Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow movement, said there is no difference between religious leaders who are intolerant of criticism regardless of their location.
There is practically no difference between bigots of all religious shades, the passion to suppress, kill, destroy, harass and intimidate anyone standing the way of their well concocted but highly concealed agenda is not different whether in Kano or Rivers! 1/2 #RevolutionNow pic.twitter.com/JWruNW7rFA

Other Nigerians also expressed their opinion on the matter.
Pastor Ibiyeomie… 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Whatever you think about Daddy Freeze, and I have my issues with him. One of the good things he's been able to achieve is to demystify these gods of men. Little pressure and their unchrist-like nature shines thru.
So 'broadcaster' no bi work again? pic.twitter.com/7CJNjxlZHe— Wale Gates (@walegates) September 6, 2020
All of you have Pastors today because of men like Martin Luther who stood up to the almighty pope and the doctrines of the Catholic church.
If Daddy Freeze (a Christian) criticizes your Pastor, focus more on the context of his criticism and not defending your almighty pastor

We all know Daddy Freeze is a clout chaser but pastor David Ibiyeomie calling someone a bastard on the pulpit???? Nah

For Pastor Ibiyeomie to say he would kill Daddy Freeze and the congregation was cheering him up on live TV shows that religion is a threats to humanity freedom.

I really do hope daddy freeze reports this guy for threatening his life in a congregation. Because this is being plain stupid. https://t.co/vCJ09T8xW3

What this charlatan is really doing is teaching the sad people who see him as their father, how to react if and when he himself comes under attack…
This is indoctrination, no different from what capos do to cult initiates.
I have no love for Daddy Freeze but this is insane. https://t.co/4eZGnRIB1o— David Abdulrazak Atta (@the_davidatta) September 7, 2020
Pastor Ibiyeome was wrong.
Wrong for being angry? No. Anger is an emotion, every human feels it. But the Bible said "Be angry, but do not sin". Calling Daddy Freeze slurs on the pulpit, or off it, is wrong.
Pastor Sam Adeyemi is a spiritual son to Oyedepo too, he won't do that.

Nigerians are fond of empty threats. Little quarrel in a lagos rickety bus, you will hear, “do you know who I am???”😅
If a senator can slap a girl in a sex toy shop & he isn’t in a jail.
Then Pastor Ibiyeomie can threaten Daddy Freeze the broadcaster, & heavens won’t fall…..

The insults Pastor David Ibiyeomie rained on Daddy Freeze, on the pulpit, only goes to show why Jesus Christ alone should be our example.
The bible says, "when He (Jesus) was reviled and insulted, He did not revile or offer insult in return;…

The Christian Association Of Nigeria, CAN, and other Christian bodies must as a matter of urgency condemn the utterances of that Pastor and sanction him. He must apologize for those careless talks, you can't stand on the altar of God and be talking like a low budget MC Oluomo.
