The Lagos State police command has reportedly barred Uzoamaka Ohiri, ex-wife of Nigerian radio personality, Chinedu Ani, better known as Nedu Wazobia, from criticizing him on social media amid the paternity scandal that rocked their union.
The radio personality and Ohiri have been in the news since the former shared the result of a DNA test showing their first son was not his.
Ohiri had called out Nedu over their other two children and asked for spousal support.
However, there was more drama when the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, invited her.
According to The PUNCH, in the invitation letter with reference letter CR:3000/LSX/D10/Vol.3/71 and signed by Fayoade Adegoke, SCID’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, the invitation was for fact-finding.
In the letter dated September 7, 2021, Ohiri was directed to meet Margaret Ighodalo for the interrogation.
But the publication said on arrival at the SCID on Wednesday, the comedian’s ex-wife was grilled for six hours, during which the officers were said to have also taken her photographs.
The police were said to have thereafter granted her administrative bail and asked her to return on Thursday.
When she got there, she was reportedly asked to desist from making social media posts about her former husband and further told her to return again on Friday.
A relative to Nedu’s ex-wife was said to have condemned the police invitation and subsequent three-day grilling.
“My cousin is seriously being harassed, humiliated and intimidated by the Police because of the status of her ex-husband,” Uzoamaka’s relative was quoted as saying.
“How does a family and civil matter concern the Police? The Commissioner of Police needs to caution his men.”
Ohiri is yet to also react to the police invitation and her grilling by officers at the SCID.
