Former governor of Ekiti state and Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Ayodele Fayose, has warned that if the party’s leadership does not do more to resolve the present rancor in the party, there will be further turbulence.
The PDP chieftain, who has been mainly silent on the present party issue, made this statement in a tweet. He had been speculated to be working for the presidential ambition of the ruling All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Tinubu.
However, Fayose who explained why he kept mum in the wake of the crisis wrote:
“I see more serious turbulence for PDP more than ever before.I have been silent all this while hoping that things will get better.I advise we do more than we are doing now to resolve this crisis as events in days/weeks ahead may likely get messier. I pray this advice is not ignored.”
The main opposition party has been rocked with an unending crisis since it held its party primary election. The governor of River state Nyesom WIke on losing the party’s primary election called for the resignation of the party’s chairman Iyorcha Ayu.
However, the failure of Ayu to rescind his position had further depended the party’s crisis as the Wike’s camp has continued to boycott the party’s presidential campaign activities
