Olisa Metuh,a former National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday said President Muhammadu Buhari beat incumbent Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 because the All Progressives Congress (APC) “merely benefited” from the then-ruling government’s “implosion”.
Newsbreak recalls that the APC won the 2015 presidential election in Nigeria with 15,424,921 votes to the PDP’s 12,853,162. It retained power in 2019.
Warning supporters of Peter Obi, a presidential hopeful under the platform of the Labour Party (LP) to refrain from making personal attacks on other aspirants and candidates of the 2023 general election, Metuh wrote on his known Facebook page: “If you truly love PETER OBI, please refrain from insulting people recklessly.
“Emulate Peter’s noble, civil and decent mannerism.
“You cannot love a man and refuse to learn from him.
“Most importantly, propaganda and insults dis not get Buhari elected in 2015, APC merely benefited from the implosion in the PDP then.
“Do not emulate wrongful and evil ways of media engagements, biko.”
