Yekini Nabena, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as unjust the criticism by Nigerians of Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi State, over the non-payment of salaries and the purported sparing of Seriake Dickson, Governor of Bayelsa State, over the same issue.
Nabena stated his position in a post on Twitter on Wednesday as both Kogi and Bayelsa states prepare to head to the polls on November 16 to elect new governors.
According to t Nabena, who is from Bayelsa State, it is unfair for Nigerians to compare the inability of Governor Bello, who governs a non-oil producing state, to pay salaries with that of Governor Dickson, who governs an oil-producing state.
The APC deputy spokesperson insisted that any person who makes such a comparison of the Kogi and Bayelsa governors, especially with the resources controlled by the latter, is saying nonsense.
“If you are saying NONSENSE about GYB a Governor in a NON-oil producing state that was owing salaries and you want @OfficialPDPNig to continue in Bayelsa a (sic) Oil Producing State That is owing Salaries, If no one tells you this I will. You are a b*****d,” Nabena tweeted.
