President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with British Prime Minister, Theresa May, in the nation`s capital, Abuja.

May, who arrived at the Presidential Villa at 1:03 pm went in for a closed-door meeting with President Buhari after both leaders exchanged pleasantries with their various entourages.
Before they both emerged for a press conference after their meeting, May and President Buhari oversaw the signing of two bilateral agreements: a Security and Defence Partnership, and an Economic Development Forum Agreement.
The security and defence agreement was signed by Babagana Monguno, Nigeria`s National Security Adviser, and Christian Turner, the British Deputy National Security Adviser.
The economic development agreement was signed by Zainab Ahmed, the Nigerian Minister of State Budget and National planning, and George Hollingbery, the British Minister of State for Trade Policy.
May`s visit to Nigeria was in continuation of her visit to Africa to seek for improved ties and economic relations between the United Kingdom and countries n the continent, especially in the wake of the UK’s impending exit from the European Union.
The British Prime Minister will leave Nigeria for Kenya, where she is expected to meet with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
