The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has presented Certificate of Return to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.
May Agbmuche-Mbu, the National Commissioner of INEC, in charge of Edo, Rivers, and Bayelsa States, made the presentation on Tuesday, at the electoral body’s office in Aduwawa, Benin City, the state capital.
She commended stakeholders, particularly security agencies, for their role in the smooth conduct of the governorship poll.
Obaseki, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was returned elected by INEC, after polling the highest number of votes in the gubernatorial poll conducted on Saturday.

Obaseki secured 307,955 of the total votes and 84,336 more votes than his closest rival, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who got 223, 619 votes.
